Will Cubs bring ballgirls back to Wrigley? |
The Cubs became the first big-league team with ballgirls in 1982 when Marla Collins took the field — actually patrolled the area off the actual playing field — in an outfit that featured a Cubs jersey and shorts. She lasted until 1986 when it was decided after she had posed for Playboy to replace her. Enter Kathy Wolter and Mariellen Kopp, who themselves disappeared not too long after. ”I don’t know,” Laura Ricketts said. ”We’ll have to look into it. We really haven’t discussed it.” – Chicago Sun-Times
I say bring back the ball girls, put some cheerleaders on the field and let’s make baseball entertaining. -TO
