Usain Bolt Has No Respect For Carl Lewis

Tell Carl to shut it T...

After winning his fifth career Olympic Gold Medal, Usain Bolt voiced his dislike for an iconic nine-time USA Olympic Gold Medal sprinter, Carl Lewis, during a recent press conference. The self proclaimed “living legend” was candid in supporting his dislike for Lewis. ”Carl Lewis, I have no respect for him. The things he says about the track athletes are very downgrading. I think he’s just looking for attention because nobody really talks about him. I’ve lost all respect for him. All respect.“ In Bolt’s defense, Carl Lewis did whisper drug accusations last Olympic go around. -TO

Is the 100m record tainted? I was looking at the 100m record over the years and notice some amazing things. Take a look

Armin Hary West Germany Zürich, Switzerland 1960 10.0
Jim Hines United States Mexico City, Mexico 1968 9.95
Calvin Smith United States Colorado Springs, USA 1983 9.93

It took 8 years for the world record to go down .05 seconds and a another 15 years for the record to go down another .02 seconds. So for the world record to drop a whole .07 seconds took 23 years.

    Now look at this

Asafa Powell Jamaica Rieti, Italy 2007 9.74
Usain Bolt Jamaica New York, US 2008 9.72
Usain Bolt Jamaica Beijing, China 2008 9.69
Usain Bolt Jamaica Berlin, Germany 2009 9.58

It took Usain bolt 2 years to bring the world record down .16!!!!!!

Over the course of the world record for the world record to drop .16 took 31 years.

Jim Hines United States Mexico City, Mexico 1968 9.95
Calvin Smith United States Colorado Springs, USA 1983 9.93
Carl Lewis United States Seoul, South Korea 1988 9.92
Leroy Burrell United States New York, USA 1991 9.90
Carl Lewis United States Tokyo, Japan 1991 9.86
Leroy Burrell United States Lausanne, Switzerland 1994 9.85
Donovan Bailey Canada Atlanta, USA 1996 9.84
Maurice Greene United States Athens, Greece 1999 9.79

    side note

In April 2008, the New York Times reported that Greene had paid Mexican discus thrower Angel Guillermo Heredia $10,000, which Heredia claimed was in payment for performance enhancing drugs. Greene admitted meeting Heredia and making the payment, but claimed it was common for him to pay for “stuff” for other members of his training group, and reiterated that he had never
    used banned drugs.

While he has not returned a positive drug test, according to press reports he testified to the agency that he, along with a number of other prominent athletes (including baseball star Barry Bonds), obtained steroids and human growth hormone from BALCO, a laboratory near San Francisco. The USADA sought a four year suspension on Montgomery, who appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). On 13 December 2005, the CAS found Montgomery guilty and imposed a two year ban. On top of the ban, all of Montgomery’s results and awards since 31 March 2001, including his former world record, had also been stripped.[1] After the ban was announced, Montgomery announced his retirement.
