Tiger Still # 1 |
ORLANDO, Florida (AFP) — Tiger Woods sank a clutch 15-foot birdie at the final hole to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational for for his first victory since returning from knee surgery last month.
Woods won his sixth Bay Hill title in typically dramatic fashion, edging fellow American Sean O’Hair by one stroke in semi-darkness.
They were level after Woods bogeyed the par-3 17th, but the world number one rose to the occasion to win in only his third start since returning from an injury that kept him out from his US Open win last June until a month ago.
Woods won his 66th title by carding a three-under par 67 for five-under-par 275, while third round leader O’Hair shot 73 for second place on four-under, with Zach Johnson another two shots back in third place.
“It feels really good to be back in contention again, feel the rush, having to deal with everything coming down the stretch,” Woods said. “It has been a while but it feels good.”
It was a perfect tonic for Woods in his final start before the Masters and it establishes him as a huge favorite for a 15th major title at Augusta National Golf Club in two weeks.
I hate to boast but my last Tiger Post I predicted the following:
“Woods has been on top for 198 consecutive weeks. That is crazy long. He is out for 8 months, and now he is in jeopardy of losing his hold on the 1 spot. I bet this motivates Tiger to win this weekend. Mark my words, Tiger stays at # 1. You heard it hear first- TO” http://www.terezowens.com/?p=3112
Tiger stays # 1 until he retires.. You heard it hear first. -TO

I hope she doesn't do the same thing as the last Mexican reporter did..."I showed up all hot and sexy, and those men just were nasty to me, when I went to see them naked in their locker room, where I didn't belong"
