I'm trying to take over what Terez? You are too funny..

Vancouver city council has opened the door for an Ultimate Fighting Championship show in the city by approving a two-year trial period for mixed martial arts. Councillors voted six to three yesterday to allow Vancouver to regulate and sanction the combat sport, which is expected to generate millions of dollars for the local economy. UFC president Dana White, who has Vancouver pencilled in for a show next year, was quick to celebrate the news. “Vancouver is sanctioned!!!,” he said via Twitter. “Another one down! Thanks to everyone in Vancouver who helped. See you in 2010.” –Toronto Sun

UFC 107--Penn vs. Sanchez

Diego Sanchez has repeatedly said that his endurance and cardio will be one of the reasons why he will defeat BJ Penn and capture the lightweight title at UFC 107 on Saturday. But when FanHouse asked “The Prodigy” about that at Wednesday’s media workout, Penn, who claims to be in the best shape of his life, said that Sanchez couldn’t be more wrong. -mmafighting.com

My money is on Penn. Looking forward to the 107. -TO

Competing as a heavyweight on this season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” Slice wasn’t required to cut any weight during the show. Although he says he was expecting the process to be difficult when he agreed to the catch-weight, it’s been a lot tougher than he had thought. “Honestly, the last time I was at this weight was in middle school,” Slice said. “I’m at the weight, but it’s just maintaining it. If I drink a glass of water I’m back at 230. It’s really a mental thing. I didn’t know how serious it was going to be. “Hopefully, it won’t take a negative turn for me.” The toll on Slice mentally and physically of cutting weight for the first time could play out to Alexander’s advantage come Saturday night. – Las Vegas Sun

On a recent episode of The Ultimate Fighter — the UFC’s wildly popular reality show — heavyweight hopeful Marcus Jones made a revelation to millions of viewers. The former NFL defensive end, who recorded 24 sacks in six seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1996-2001, confessed that his heart was never fully in his football career. Well, at least not in the way it’s invested in his fledgling mixed martial arts career. It may have come to a shock to some watching, wondering how someone who once held seemingly one of the most desired and admired jobs in America could have essentially gone through the motions the whole time. One former Bucs teammate and close friend of Jones’s was hardly surprised. “He’ll even tell you, he didn’t really love football,” said Ian Beckles, who played nine seasons in the league from 1990-98, spending the first seven in Tampa. “He just played football and he excelled at it. But he loves MMA. So the odds of him excelling at that are probably better than football, and he had a pretty good football career as well. – Las Vegas Sun

What a piece of shit to say he didn’t care..maybe he should give back all the money he made from playing football. -TO
