Mike Tyson Large and in Charge |
With the new feature film TYSON documenting the former undisputed heavyweight boxing world champion’s troubled life about to be released in the UK on March 27, sportswriter Jamie Jackson discloses in the April 2009 issue of Men’s Health the secrets behind “Iron” Mike Tyson’s former invincibility and explains the lessons you can learn from this modern parable.
Did you know at his physical peak in the 1980’s, Tyson had four separate training sessions each day, which included 500 shoulder shrugs with a 30kg barbell?
“There is a fascination with him that it is incalculable,” former world champion Barry McGuigan is quoted. “He could have been the greatest of all time if he’d held his life together.”
The Men’s Health April 2009 magazine feature contains quotes from McGuigan, British heavyweight fighter David Haye and sports psychologist Martin Perry to name a few – all talking about Mike Tyson. -UK Boxing News
Iron Mike at his peak was the baddest man in the world. Now, he is the fattest man in the world. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw how big crazy mike has gotten. If it wasn’t for his dumbass eye tattoo, he would be mostly unrecognizable. I am excited to see the documentary though. What a character. -TO
