Brock Lesnar says ‘miracle’ saved his fighting career

January 21, 2010

Terez, I had a hole in my stomach the size of my neck..

Thanks to what he describes as a ‘miracle’ and care from the best doctors in the world, Brock Lesnar is finally healthy and ready to return to the octagon sometime this summer. The UFC heavyweight champion has been out of action since defeating Frank Mir at UFC 100 in July, due to a stomach ailment he says was caused by his poor diet. After originally being diagnosed with mononucleosis when he pulled out of a November fight with Shane Carwin, Lesnar says it was a severe case of diverticulitis that threatened his fighting career. “It means I had a hole in my stomach,” Lesnar said. “I didn’t know what was going on, I was suffering for almost a year. I had stomach pains here and there and flu-like symptoms. It left me 60 to 80 percent all last year.” — Las Vegas Sun

It will be a miracle if I ever see Brock in the Octagon again..Get back to fighting already hoss..sick of waiting for you to return. -TO

Terez, what do you think?? Will I fight again??

Brock Lesnar’s longtime friend and Jiu-Jitsu coach tells TMZ the hospitalized fighter WILL return to the Octagon — and he guarantees Brock will return to battle condition in the next six months. We spoke with Rodrigo “Comprido” Medeiros — a 7-time World Jiu-Jitsu champ — who tells us the reigning UFC heavyweight champ “is getting better and that is the most important thing … He will be fine and be fighting again within 6 months.” Medeiros adds, “I can just say that the heavyweights can stop laughing and get ready to start crying because the champion will be back soon.”As we previously reported, Lesnar had been hospitalized due to a mysterious intestinal disorder. UFC president Dana White claimed the illness is so severe, Brock may never fight again.  So far, Brock has yet to release a comment himself.

While rumors seem to be more widespread than actual facts in the recent health struggles of UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, UFC president Dana White today shared the latest via his official Twitter account. “Leaving Bismarck, N.D. right now,” White stated. “Brock had minor surgery and is feeling better.” On Monday, White told the Associated Press Lesnar is currently suffering from a bacterial infection in his intestinal track in addition to the mononucleosis that has recently plagued the sidelined heavyweight champ. While White didn’t release details of the procedure, he did state that Lesnar could perhaps be facing further treatment.  “Not 100 percent sure he is out of the woods, but feeling better,” White stated. -MMA Junkie
