Iron Mike Wants Jamie Foxx to Lose His Mind

Terez, If I can play Ray Charles....I sure as hell can play a fat crazy Tyson...

If Mike Tyson has his way, he’ll get Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx to tackle his life story in an upcoming cinematic version of his life. The boxer has been talking to the press about this plan for more than a year now, and he told MTV News that it’s still very close to happening. And what a movie it would be if Foxx ever indeed portrays Iron Mike on the big screen. Tyson — whose life is told in all its glory and tragedy in the new documentary “Tyson” set for release this Friday (April 24) — has seen enough drama in his life to fill multiple biopics. From his years as a wunderkind boxer under the tutelage of Cus D’Amato to his rape conviction and repeated attempts at redemption, the film would be unbelievable … if it weren’t all true. “It’s gonna be [about me],” he told MTV News about the planned collaboration. “It’s gonna be Jamie Foxx portraying me in a life story.” Although the details of the film are still fuzzy, Tyson said that Foxx is very interesting in playing the troubled boxer. “I don’t know [who might direct],” he said. “Jamie discussed the things he wanted to do. He didn’t know which way he wanted to go, but it was something he wanted to do. He told me not to tell anybody [too much]. He’s just interested in doing it.”  – MTV

If anyone can pull off playing crazy its Jamie Foxx.  Playing Tyson could be a career killer though. I thought Carlton from  the Fresh Prince would be a good fit. -TO

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Comes Out

you smell that, the greatest smell in the world...

Floyd Mayweather Jr., who hasn’t fought since December 2007 and retired as the undefeated pound-for-pound king in June, is planning to fight again — possibly as soon as July 11 — two sources with knowledge of the situation told ESPN.com.

“He is coming back. I’ve been around him. He’s ready to dance again very soon,” said one source, who recently spent time with Mayweather and has known him for years. “He’s itching to go. The way he sounded, he is willing to take on whoever they throw in his face. He would do the [Manny] Pacquiao-[Ricky] Hatton winner, Shane Mosley, Juan Manuel Marquez. The only one he doesn’t have an interest in is [a rematch with] Oscar De La Hoya. But in Floyd’s mind, he knows there is one Godzilla, and that’s a fight with Pacquiao.”

Mayweather has been sparring and working out regularly in his Las Vegas gym and is in great shape, according to one of the sources.

Before Mayweather fights one of the big names, both sources said Mayweather’s team has talked to HBO about the availability of July 11, the network’s date for that month’s edition of “World Championship Boxing.” Dan Rafael is the boxing writer for ESPN.com

Another athlete who comes out of retirement. How many times have we seen this happen? The dude has a ton of money so he must love the sport. Lets see what he has left in the ring.  -TO

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Pulls out

How much am I getting paid for this again?

How much am I getting paid for this again?

Amid rumors that he’s coming out of retirement, unbeaten boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has pulled out of a fundraiser and gala for the needy in Middletown, Ohio. Once a great steel city, Middletown has been labeled by Forbes magazine as one of the 10 fastest dying cities in America. Mayweather’s spokesman told the benefit’s organizers the reason for the withdrawal would be clear after an “announcement” this week. – Las Vegas Review-Journal

He dropped out because he wanted to go to Vegas to party. He has made a fortune already and for him retirement was the best option. I bet he will fight again if the price is right though. Floyd loves the greens, money and weed. -TO

Everybody's got plans... until they get fat

Everybody's got plans... until they get fat

With the new feature film TYSON documenting the former undisputed heavyweight boxing world champion’s troubled life about to be released in the UK on March 27, sportswriter Jamie Jackson discloses in the April 2009 issue of Men’s Health the secrets behind “Iron” Mike Tyson’s former invincibility and explains the lessons you can learn from this modern parable.

Did you know at his physical peak in the 1980’s, Tyson had four separate training sessions each day, which included 500 shoulder shrugs with a 30kg barbell?

“There is a fascination with him that it is incalculable,” former world champion Barry McGuigan is quoted. “He could have been the greatest of all time if he’d held his life together.”

The Men’s Health April 2009 magazine feature contains quotes from McGuigan, British heavyweight fighter David Haye and sports psychologist Martin Perry to name a few – all talking about Mike Tyson. -UK Boxing News

Iron Mike at his peak was the baddest man in the world. Now, he is the fattest man in the world. I couldn’t  believe my eyes when I saw how big crazy mike has gotten. If it wasn’t for his dumbass eye tattoo, he would be  mostly unrecognizable. I am excited to see the documentary though. What a character. -TO
