The Associated Press BOSTON — The Boston Red Sox have postponed their home opener against the Tampa Bay Rays because of the prospect of heavy rain and high winds.

The Red Sox announced that Monday’s game against the defending American League champions is rescheduled for 4:05 p.m. Tuesday, which had been an off day.

It’s the first time the Red Sox have postponed their home opener since 2003. That game also was called because of rain.

The MLB season starts way too early.  What I don’t understand is why Major League Baseball doesn’t schedule matchups so the cold weather teams play on the road. The same shit happens every year. Selig, get a clue. -TO
