Tiger Woods changed his phone number five times last year, according to golfing and texting pal Mark Calcavecchia. “I didn’t really think about it, but in the course of last year he changed his number five times,” Calcavecchia said to Golf.com. “The last time he did, I said, ‘Man, you change phone numbers more than I change underwear.’” One of Woods’ mistresses, Jaimee Grubbs, disclosed text messages and voicemails from the golfing great last year after it was revealed he’d been cheating on his wife. She said Woods often changed his phone number and asked her to change her voicemail message, after his wife, Elin, allegedly went through his phone. “It was always something silly,” Calcavecchia says. “But I sent him a couple of texts right after all this stuff started and obviously he didn’t get back to me. Portland Trail Blazers center Joel Przybilla, already out for the season, slipped while taking a shower at his home and ruptured the right patella tendon again that he tore in December, team officials said. In a news conference prior to Sunday’s game against the Denver Nuggets, Trail Blazers coach Nate McMillan said Przybilla would undergo surgery in the next few days to repair the tendon for a second time. He underwent a similar procedure Dec. 24, two days after he originally ruptured the tendon during a game against the Dallas Mavericks, ending his season. “He will have to go through this all over again,” McMillan said. Przybilla was at his home in Milwaukee where he was in the midst of an injury rehabilitation program, when he slipped in the shower on Saturday morning. He returned to Portland on Sunday to undergo an MRI, which showed the tendon had again ruptured. “We were told a week prior to this that he was doing great,” McMillan said. “I’m sure Joel was starting to feel better and got a little bit more comfortable. It’s one of those situations where you slip in the tub and the thing buckles.” –Tribune News Services

Back in 2007, Glen Davis was a top candidate for the lead role of Michael Oher in “The Blind Side.” (Bullock won Best Actress for her work in the film Sunday night.) The casting seemed like a perfect fit for Davis, a former high school football player who shared a love of athletics and the arts. He performed in improv shows while playing college basketball at Louisiana State University and enjoyed being on stage. So when he was approached to audition for the film at the start of his rookie season with the Celtics, Davis jumped at the opportunity. After submitting his tape, Davis learned he was one of the top three candidates for the role. Because of the NBA schedule, however, he never met with film’s executives. Regardless of the opportunity to act, Davis had priorities. The role ultimately was given to Quinton Aaron and the movie went on to become a blockbuster hit, earning over $200 million in theaters.
