Lakers owner won’t apologize for skipping Lakers clinching game, victory parade |
Jerry Buss received some flack from Lakers fans last season when he attended neither the clinching game of the NBA Finals in Orlando nor the championship rally at the Coliseum a few days afterward. An entertainment news site posted pictures of Buss playing poker by himself at a Los Angeles casino during the victory parade, with a TV showing the procession in the background. There were no apologies from Buss for his reclusive behavior. He said he preferred to watch the clinching game from home with his family around him, and TV offered him a better perspective of the parade. “I’ve been to a bunch of parades, and the problem is you only see the parts you’re in,” Buss said. “If you’re watching on TV, it’s really kind of fun.” – Riverside Press-Enterprise
