My sources tell me ESPN will formally announce Chris ‘Boomer’ Berman has signed a new multi-year contract. Berman was asked about the possibility of leaving the Disney owned station,”this is my home. I’d love to finish here, and I’m going to. I’ll be here as long as they’ll have me.” Boom, who joined ESPN in October 1979 had a contract that was set to expire on May 10 —coincidentally on his 55th birthday..Chris Berman has made ESPN what it is today..I don’t have a negative word to say about Chris..except maybe his act is getting a little tired…I know he’s hoping ABC/ESPN lands the 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia. “I took just a tad of Russian once upon a time.
