New San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Braylon Edwards was fined $50,000 for violating the NFL policy on substances of abuse…Bray Bray was arrested for DUI in September 2010 while he was still with the New York Jets. Edwards pleaded guilty in July, but won’t face a league suspension, according to the team. Braylon tweets, “I guess the good news is out 49er faithfuls, no suspension. I did get fined but I am in agreement and happy to move on,” Edwards said via his Twitter account. Edwards received a one year contract from San Fran, so I’m thinking unless he has a prodcutvie season, his career might be on the outs. -TO

It's time to coach with the big boys T..

Jim Harbaugh is not going to coach at the University of Michigan..If he stays in College Football, he will stay with his current team Stanford..I’m being told this strongly suggests that Harbaugh is ready to jump into the NFL..My insider tells me Harbaugh will take the money and allure of an NFL Head Coaching position and stay close to home in San Francisco..Harbaugh is the hottest name in NFL coaching circles at this point, and the 49ers are prepared to make him an offer he can’t refuse..This coupled with the fact his brother John has been very successful at the NFL level coaching the Ravens, gives Jim the confidence to believe he can lead the 49ers back to the playoffs next year..I think this will be a great hire. -TO
