NBA Philadelphia 76ers Thaddeus Young and athlete friends celebrated the 4th Annual Thad-A-Claus Holiday Party presented by Chickie’s & Pete’s — The money raised went directly to the Young For Youth Foundation 501 c (3) non-profit  and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Philadelphia. How great is it to see all these athletes give back to their communities. The Christmas spirit is definitely still thriving.-TO

Philadelphia Sixers fans aren’t the least bit amused that Andrew Bynum hasn’t been able to play even one game yet this season. They are frustrated and upset. Can’t say the same for Bynum, who continues to handle his injury with a carefree attitude. Here’s an excerpt from a recent interview with a Sixers Blog, “How much higher can the afro grow? asked the blog: “Oh man, I want it to go forever, man. There’s going to come and point in time where it’s not going to be growing, so I might as well enjoy it while I have it.” Bynum was also asked about the night he flattened his hair. “It wasn’t Dora, man. It was ‘Pimp Named Slickback’ (a character from The Boondocks cartoon). No, I flattened it because it gets boring picking it out all the time.” Glad someone’s amused.-TO

The Philadelphia Sixers’ big man in now involved in a pair of lawsuits with ex-neighbors in California. TMZ has the amusing details: “Bynum — a former member of the L.A. Lakers — claims that ever since he moved into his fancy home in Westchester, CA more than 7 years ago, he’s been constantly harassed by his neighbors, Ramond and Cindy Beckett. According to his lawsuit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Bynum says the Becketts have objected to his ‘profession, his race, his friends, his cars and his taste in music.’ Bynum claims the Becketts have behaved like petulant children — throwing coins at his Ferrari (which chipped the paint), screaming at him about his music, and even banging the side of his house with ‘a long stick.’ The Sixers have to regret ever getting into the Bynum business.-TO
