Finally someone has commented on the now infamous party pics of Blackhawks star Patrick Kane — According to the Chicago Tribune, “Hawks general manager Stan Bowman said the club was “disappointed” by photos that emerged of the star forward partying in Madison, Wis., earlier this month — “Obviously, we’re aware of that situation and we followed it closely,” Bowman said as part of a conference call” — Hockey guys can get away with this sort of thing. Publicly they’ll pretend to be upset, but no chance they can fault Kane for letting loose in Madtown. -TO
Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane has adamantly denied that he was passed out at a Madison bar over the weekend — We were the first to post the story and pics, and now Kane is telling his side of the story to the The Heckler? “As you can tell from the photos, I was partying my balls off all day and got a little tired,” said Kane, “but I wasn’t passed out. I was just taking a quick nap. I’m not some candy-ass who can’t handle his booze or something.” If we still had John Scott, I’d send him after the guy who took that pic,” said Kane, “but since we don’t, I guess I’ll have to send Mayers or Bollig. It’s just not the same.” No need for Kane to apologize, he’s given a lot of people a good laugh. -TO

Some players grow beards, others wear black shoes, and in hockey circles, some even grow mullets and mustaches..Playoff superstitions can often be funny, but not to Canucks winger Tanner Glass..On Monday, Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane re-debuted his mullet-style haircut he sported during last years Stanley Cup run…Glass was none too pleased..”It’s embarrassing,” Glass said. “He kind of mocks the mullet. I’m not too pleased with that to be honest.” “I don’t think there are rules, but when you do it for a few months and then you cut it off, that’s kind of mocking it,” Glass said. “I’d respect him more if he had it year-round.” Kane shot back but kept his cool..”I’m actually kind of using mine as a joke, so if he’s insulted, you can tell him it’s a joke,” Kane said…The fact that it’s a joke is the very reason Glass is pissed..”Oh, I don’t know,” Kane said. “It’s something I did at first just to get a little bit of a rise out of the boys on my team. It seemed like it kind of worked last year, so I had to bring it back. Not making fun of him. Just trying to get a laugh out of the boys.” The NHL Playoffs have officially arrived..-TO
