Carrie Underwood Gets Sunday Night Football Gig

All my rowdy friends are here on Sunday night T..

The NBC Sports media department Monday sent out an advisory, saying there’s a “major announcement” at 4 p.m. today about “a talent addition to Sunday Night Football.” The announcement is believed to be that Carrie Underwood is replacing Faith Hill as the singer for the “Sunday Night Football” open. We broke this one almost a month ago.-TO

Carrie Underwood Taking Over Sunday Night Football?

I’d be honored T…

Faith Hill will no longer sing the opening theme for NBC’s Sunday Night Football, the 45-year-old announced via Twitter on Monday, April 15. “Amazing to have been part of Sunday Night Football — an honor,” Faith Hill wrote. “I’ve just let everyone there know it’s time to let someone else rock the open.” Hill added that it was a “difficult decision” and “kinda emotional.” Our tipster has informed us NBC sports has made an offer to another country superstar, Carrie Underwood. She’s more a hockey girl but she would be a fine replacement for Faith. -TO

Active NFL player reportedly considers saying he’s gay

We’re trying to keep him in the closet T…

According a report by CBSSports’ Mike Freeman, a closeted NFL player is strongly considering coming out but is predominantly concerned about fan reaction. Founded on the belief that straight allyship creates a more welcoming sports environment, Athlete Ally is encouraging fans and athletes around the world to show their support for all gay athletes by signing the Athlete Ally pledge at www.athleteally.org and sharing the hashtag #FB4ALL. I wonder who it is?-TO

First Female Kicker Trying out for the NFL

First Female Kicker Trying out for the NFL

I’m going for it T…

Former MIT master’s student Lauren Silberman will be the first female to participate in a Regional Scouting Combine. “I was not aware that I was the first female registrant,” Silberman told NFL.com on Tuesday. “I was actually hoping that the 2012 historical milestone rule, to allow women to play, would prompt more women to attend tryouts this year. But for me, what’s important is to finally have a chance to fulfill my dreams by trying out to play in the world’s most competitive football league.” It would be phenomenal if she made a team, but we know how violent the NFL can be, and If that’s my daughter, I’m saying no way to any tryouts.-TO

Soccer Mom Madam will name names

I put the F in NFL T…

Thanks to our friends at Wild About Trial we now know that Anna Gristina, the Soccer Mom Madam, will be spilling the names of her “clients” in a new tell all book. She says that one of her clients is high-level NFL management and another is an older football player who is still very well known. As soon as she drops the names I will be sure to post them here. If you have a moment you should check out the Wild About Trial Kickstarter page and back them for a few bucks so they can make the TV show a reality. -TO
