Michael Irvin is the latest athlete to stand up for equal rights…The Cowboys legend is featured on this month’s cover of Out Magazine…Here’s an excerpt from the Out article: “Growing up, whoever had the most women and the nicest car, he was the man,” he says. “So when you get in the locker room, you remember that. I’m gonna get all the girls so that everybody says, ‘Michael’s the man.’ ” Don’t get the wrong idea about Irvin…He sets the record straight, “I’m not gay, but I was afraid to even let anyone have the thought. I can only imagine the agony—being a prisoner in your own mind — for someone who wants to come out. If I’m not gay and I am afraid to mention it, I can only imagine what an athlete must be going through if he is gay.” Irvin is definitely not the same drugged out dude he once was…Would never had expected this out of him, but it’s refreshing to see. -TO

\Stars and athletes alike play at the EA Sports Madden NFL 11 Pigskin Pro-Am in Malibu, CA yesterday where Michael Irvin accidentally got injured..NFL  stars past and present were in attendance including Joe Montana, Kurt Warner and Terrell Owens..Some of the non-athlete stars involved were James ‘Mox’ Vanderbeek, Craig Robinson and Celtics fanatic Maria Menounous..but the big news unfortunately was the injury Michael Irvin suffered..According to my sources, Michael tweaked his ankle and had to hit the sidelines for the remainder of the event..sucks to be him..Peep the gallery below to see who came to play..-TO

I'm gonna sue their ass Terez..

It recently happened to Hall-of-Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin, who was accused of sexual assault in a civil suit filed in Florida Feb. 4 by Nicole Alisa Mostafa, who claimed the incident had occurred 31 months earlier. The following day, Irvin was fired by the ESPN radio affiliate in Dallas, but the NFL Network stuck with him. ESPN claimed the move was going to be made anyway. Last Wednesday, investigators said charges would not be filed against Irvin because of inconsistencies in the allegations and the fact Mostafa had talked with three attorneys prior to making the report to police. Now, Irvin is considering firing back with a lawsuit against ESPN. Said attorney Larry Friedman, “They fired Michael Irvin immediately after Ms. Mostafa filed the lawsuit and made public the false allegations that hurt Michael Irvin and his career.” Said Irvin, “It’s been a horrific ordeal. This has been very difficult on me and my family. This has been the very thing I have so tried to avoid.” — St. Louis Globe-Democrat

Damn Terez...I got lucky

Though the civil lawsuit against Hall of Fame receiver Michael Irvin will proceed, Irvin need not worry about going to jail. According to the Associated Press, prosecutors in South Florida will not file criminal charges against Irvin. The woman claims that the sexual assault occurred at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.  Irvin responded to the lawsuit by filing a lawsuit of his own against his accuser in Dallas.  He seeks $100 million in damages. The legal entanglement has not affected Irvin’s employment with NFL Network.  However, he was fired from his weekday show on ESPN Radio in Dallas the day after the suit was filed.   We were told at the time that ESPN Radio had planned to tell Irvin the Monday after the Super Bowl that the show would be canceled.  Irvin spent 11 years with the Cowboys.  He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August 2007, less than a month after the alleged rape occurred. –Pro Football Talk

Through a lifetime of coaching, we bet ex-NFL star Michael Irvin never got advice like his dancing partner, Anna Demidova, gave him on Monday’s episode of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars. Demidova told the former Dallas Cowboy, doing the Paso Doble dance, that he needed to keep his hips forward like he was “holding a coin in his bottom.” Irvin took the advice literally, making for a hysterical moment when the change (a nickel) fell out.
