Terez, its me Tiger with a wig and belly ring..

“I could have made a couple more birdies — or not as many bogeys — but I’m happy,” said Woods, who competed on a sponsor exemption. “Three more years at Wake Forest and then hopefully I’ll be back out here.”

Morgan Pressel picked up two birdies to finish second at 10 under, one behind Jiyai Shin. Stacy Lewis was third at 9 under, one better than Kristy McPherson. Michelle Wie, Mindy Kim and Germany’s Sandra Gal, the first-round leader, were tied at 7 under. Defending champion Eun-Hee Ji could only manage a 71 and crashed out with a 7-over total. Paula Creamer withdrew with a hand injury.

She looks a ton like tiger, let’s wait and see if her  game is anything like his. -TO

Maria Verchenova, a young female golfer from Moscow, is getting some recognition on the Internet —- but not due to her swing. The Chicago Sun-Times has billed her the “new (pretty) face of women’s golf”  and a website dedicated to Verchenova has dubbed her the “next big sex symbol in sports.” In an interview with GolfPunk International magazine and Golf360, the 23-year-old, who just became the first Russian to become a full-time member of the Ladies European Tour, opened up about her life, skills and how she is the Maria Sharapova of golf.

RAWSON DRAWS CROWD

On of the top attractions of the first day was Anna Rawson.

The Australian is in her second year on the LPGA Tour and normally wouldn’t attract even a decent-sized gallery. But earlier in the week, Rawson signed on as the newest GoDaddy.com girl, joining the likes of Danica Patrick. Her popularity in America will soon change.

On Thursday, Rawson teed off in front of a substantial crowd and, like the rest of the afternoon players, struggled in the fierce winds.

Go Daddy Group Inc. is taking a swing at the golf world with its newest spokeswoman. The Scottsdale-based domain-name registrar on Tuesday introduced Anna Rawson, a professional golfer and fashion model from Australia, as its latest Go Daddy Girl. “She is edgy, she is fun, she is hotter than firecrackers, she is very clever and everything we look for in a Go Daddy Girl,” Chief Executive Officer Bob Parsons said at a news conference at Phoenix’s Papago Golf Course. Rawson is playing this week in the J Golf Phoenix LPGA International tournament at the Phoenix course. She golfed on the University of Southern California team and has finished in the top 10 on three golf tours. Rawson, who will wear the Go Daddy logo and star in two Go Daddy commercials to be shot next month, said she is excited about the deal. “I couldn’t have signed with a more dynamic company,” she said. – Arizona Republic

I love Big Berthas!

Michelle Wie will have a “fresh start” after splitting with the William Morris Agency LLC as she continues her first full season on the LPGA Tour, her father said. Wie, a 19-year-old sophomore at Stanford University, and the talent agency parted ways yesterday after almost four years together, the agency and Wie’s father, B.J. Wie, confirmed in separate e-mails. “Michelle is very excited about this season and a fresh start,” B.J. Wie said in an e-mailed response to questions about the split. “Michelle enjoyed working with WMA, and has nothing but positive things to say about the company. This is a fresh start for Michelle on the course and off.” William Morris, a Los Angeles-based talent and literary agency, dates back to 1898 and has represented screen actors such as Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe. It’s the latest management representative to end a relationship with Wie. – Bloomberg

Michelle Wie was way too hyped at a young age. She hasn’t really ever won anything. She tried to be the female version of Tiger but no dice. She is highly overated. Win something already Michelle. -TO
