The defending champion Dallas Mavericks will be visiting the White House today, but newly acquired guard Delonte West won’t be allowed to go with because of a 2009 traffic stop in which he was arrested for carrying three guns in a guitar ….He said, “”That’s what happens when you make bad decisions in your life. You can’t go to the White House.’ West went all crazy on Twitter…Damn shame. -TO

Delonte West is now a Maverick…and the cult hero is seen here entertaining youngsters at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas yesterday…Delonte brought the kids a miniature basketball goal. West is one of many Mavericks who makes special trips to visit with kids. He said that while athletes are considered atop the list of role models, that’s not necessarily the way it should be. “The real heroes are the ones working in these hospitals and in the school systems,” West said. “I say it all the time, if they paid doctors and teachers and those type of jobs millions of dollars, and you paid us their salaries, our economy would grow and kids would be into education. So I don’t take this lightly.” Delonte is definitely a helper, not a hater. -TO
