Simpson and teammate Anthony Collins, were at Simpson’s home in Crestview Hills, Ky. yesterday when a package allegedly containing 2.5 pounds of marijuana arrived…Investigators found six more pounds of pot inside the home as well, says Michelle Gregory, spokeswoman for the California Department of Justice…According to California Watch, “The house was set up as a potential distribution network,” said Tommy LaNier, head of the National Marijuana Initiative, a group that is funded by the Office of National Drug Control Policy and helps coordinate marijuana enforcement operations around the United States. “They had it all set up to receive supplies of high-grade marijuana from Northern California, and from there, it was being distributed from that residence,” he said. Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson is not waiting until the Bengals bye week to serve his jail sentence for a previous assault charge in Texas… According to his attorney, Sam Bassett, Benson surrendered himself to the Travis County Jail late Tuesday evening. According to jail records, Benson was booked into the facility at 11 p.m. CT. On Monday, Benson pleaded no contest to assault and sentenced to 20 days in a plea bargain…This makes more sense. It’s been reported the 20-day sentence could be dropped to 7 with good behavior. And seven days just means Benson would miss his teams final exhibition game, one he wouldn’t be playing in much anyway.
