Adidas cancels the release of their shackled shoe after Racism Backlash |
Last week Adidas previewed a photo of their Roundhouse Mid Handcuffs sneakers — The shoes were set to be released on August 12, but after plenty of backlash linking the ‘shackle’ to racism and slavery, Adidas has canceled the shoe and issued an apology. “The design of the JS Roundhouse Mid is nothing more than the designer Jeremy Scott’s outrageous and unique take on fashion and has nothing to do with slavery. We apologize if people are offended by the design and we are withdrawing our plans to make them available in the marketplace.” — Dumb move all around. -TO
