Ego check– an impromptu scrimmage at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida led to a Dwight Howard coached team of NBA guys getting beat.. The team consisting of Marcin Gortat, Courtney Lee, J.J. Redick, Ryan Anderson and Jason Williams lost 102 – 91…Gortat should be out of the league after taking that dunk to the face…thanks to @Davidbaumann33 for the footage. -TO

The Magic may have been bounced from the NBA playoffs, but that hasn’t stopped Ryan Anderson of the Orlando Magic from showing off his game….Anderson is currently dating reality tv star Gia Allemand (The Bachelor)…My source tells me the two met in the Bahamas during the all-star break…Gia has already met Ryan’s family and his sister is now Gia’s makeup artist. Gia is no stranger to athletes…She has been linked to Yankees pitcher Carl Pavano and hockey player Chris Campoli. Anderson was most recently involved with Kylee Kilgore, the twin sister of Chelsea Redick (JJ Redick’s wife). Orlando Magic Dwight Howard is preparing for the NBA season by getting his baptism on..Howard was baptized in the ocean waters at Bethune Beach..The Magic player participated in a baptism ceremony hosted by Orlando’s Summit Church. Out of respect for Howard’s privacy, the church did not release any photos of his baptism..except for one woman who was able to sneak a pic..500 or so people were watching the event.. Dwight also had a small group of family and friends with him..Magic player J.J. Redick also attends Summit Church…but was unable to attend..I hope Dwight has washed away all his sins and is ready to start the season anew..-TO

This off-season the NBA has cracked down on technical fouls..The league’s front office has given their referees the whistle and instructed them to blow it and blow it often…and they made one more little rule…NBA coaches must wear collars..One coach in particular will be affected greatly by this new rule..SVG…Stan the Man Van Gundy…Stan loves rocking the collarless shirt with the blazer..a look very few can pull off..”I want them to at least name the rule after me,” Van Gundy said. “Somebody has their Bird rights. Larry Bird got that rule named after him. I want it to be the Van Gundy Rule.” Gotta love Stan..great coach and a great sense of humor..His Brother Jeff…well not my favorite..-TO
