Irene Folstrom, former Tiger College Sweetheart pleads guilty to DWI

One day after she was scheduled to appear on Sunday’s CBS Early Show Irene Folstrom, Tiger’s Stanford sweetheart, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. Folstrom pleaded guilty Wednesday in Beltrami County District Court before Judge John Melbye to third-degree DWI. According to the Bemidji Pioneer, Folstrom failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the Beltrami County Law Enforcement Center. Her license was expired, but she had  no prior convictions or alcohol-related loss of license. The maximum sentence for third-degree DWI – refusal to test is one year in jail and a $3,000 fine..I call it the Tiger Effect..all of his lovers past and present are feeling the sting.. -TO

Lindsey Vonn Set to Appear on Law & Order

I've been watching the show since I was 5 years old Terez..

NBC has announced today that Gold Medal Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn  will play an office assistant named Alicia in the season finale of the program Law & Order. Lindsey’s scene will be shot in the Brooklyn area of New York on April 9, and her episode will air on May 24. Vonn says  “Law & Order” is her favorite show, and  said in a statement on Wednesday that she “couldn’t be more excited” with her guest appearance..I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say Law & Order is their favorite show, but I’ll take her word for it..-TO

Michael Phelps was hotter than sunburn last year, but that didn’t help get people to jump in the pool after him..according to the annual Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association’s Sports Fitness and Recreation Participation Overview, Americans who said they participated in swimming declined by 8.4 % from 19 million to 17.4 million last year..but coincidentally since Phelpsy got caught smoking dope, marijuana use has gone through the roof..To see some other interesting statistics take the jump. -TO

Lucille O’Neal was looking forward to her first trip to Cleveland since her son, Shaquille O’Neal, joined the Cavaliers. But it’s her journey she really wants to discuss. O’Neal is coming in part to talk about her new book, “Walk Like You Have Somewhere to Go: From Mental Welfare to Mental Wealth.” She will be signing copies of the book on Wednesday night at The Q and on Thursday night at the Sam’s Club in Brooklyn. “I am so excited about being able to tell my story because I think people believe it could be one thing and they find out that it’s another,” O’Neal said in a telephone interview Tuesday afternoon. The book deals with all aspects of her life: being an unwed teen mother on public assistance; coping with feelings of anger and resentment as her son’s success thrust her family into the spotlight; battling alcohol addiction; and making the painful decision to end a marriage of nearly 30 years. She said she has wanted to write a book for many years and decided she’d better do it now in order to take advantage of the publicity her son’s career affords. She said Shaquille — the oldest of her four children — has been extremely supportive of her endeavors. He paid for her to attend Bethune-Cookman, where she earned a degree in business administration, and the University of Phoenix, where she earned a master’s in organizational management. — Cleveland Plain Dealer

Twins’ Span hits his own mother with foul ball

I know, right..crazy..but she'll be ok T..

Minnesota Twins leadoff man Denard Span hit a foul ball that struck his mother in the chest during Wednesday’s exhibition game in Tampa, Fla. Span went into the stands to check on her, found out she was OK and stayed in the game. Wanda Wilson was sitting in the box seats near the third-base dugout when her son hit a foul liner leading off the game against the New York Yankees.  Span sprinted to his mom and stayed while paramedics treated her. The game was delayed for a few minutes and she was taken to first aid. Span returned to the plate and struck out on the next pitch. The Twins said Span’s mother was all right. She was back in the seats by the bottom of the first inning.–Chicago Tribune
