Former New Orleans Saints QB will parade down Bourbon Street in a dress made by his daughter

January 30, 2010

Terez, Bobby always keeps his word..

Bobby Hebert will be the best-dressed man on Bourbon Street tomorrow. The former Saints quarterback will be in a black and gold sequined dress, custom-designed and sent to him from New York by his daughter, Cammy Lynn, who describes it as “very Who-Dat-esque.” Lady Gaga, eat your heart out. Hebert is picking up the promise made by the late New Orleans sportscaster Buddy Diliberto to parade down Bourbon Street in a dress should the Saints reach the Super Bowl. Diliberto, a Big Easy icon, died five years ago. Hebert has hosted Buddy D’s radio show since his death. “My daughter who is in New York in the fashion industry, she made me a dress. It’s black and gold sequins, all of that.” –New York Daily News

Ex-NFL Player charged in sex with a student

January 30, 2010

Terez, add me to you Athlete Mug Shot Category please..

A former Fraser Public Schools track coach and ex-Detroit Lions player was arraigned Thursday on charges that he inappropriately touched and had sex with a girl he coached beginning when the student was 14, Tommy Boyd, 38, of Shelby Township is being held in the Macomb County Jail on $300,000 bond on four counts of criminal sexual conduct and two counts of accosting a child for immoral purposes. A preliminary exam is set for Feb. 3 in 39th District Court. If he posts bond, he is to wear a GPS tether, Roseville police said. Todd Flood, Boyd’s attorney, denied the allegations and said he plans to file an emergency motion today with the district court to have Boyd’s bond reduced. “We believe in his innocence and we’re going to try this case in the right forum, not in the press,” Flood said. The touching incidents occurred in Fraser in late 2008 or early 2009 and the sex occurred at a Roseville motel last year, authorities said. Fraser Public Safety Lt. Dan Kolke said school officials contacted authorities after a teacher noticed an answer from the girl on a written survey test this month. Kolke said the question asked whether the students regretted anything in their lives that they wish they could change. The girl answered that she wished she could change an incident that happened last summer, he said. The girl detailed the incident to school officials, he said. He said Boyd is charged with touching her buttocks at the school gym and at her Fraser home. Roseville Deputy Police Chief James Berlin said Boyd twice had sex with the girl last year in a Roseville motel. He said his department is investigating the possibility of other victims. Berlin said after Boyd’s NFL career ended, he began to sub at Fraser High, where he coached the track team. –Detroit Free Press
