Cubs decline to discuss Zambrano rumors

Carlos Zambrano’s name continues to surface in trade rumors, while the Cubs continue to deny that he’s available. The latest report out of New York, from the Post’s Joel Sherman, cited two AL officials as saying the Cubs are “definitely dangling” Zambrano, while also conceding he won’t waive his no-trade clause. If Zambrano won’t waive his no-trade clause, why are the Cubs even listening to offers? General manager Jim Hendry declined to discuss the report, or a previous report that the New York Yankees approached him about Zambrano before acquiring Javier Vazquez from Atlanta, reiterating he doesn’t discuss trade talks. –Chicago Tribune

Woods and his wife Elin have been hidden away in the couples Orange County, California, home dodging the media and trying to save their marriage. 1. Tiger Woods is not, and has not been, with Rachel Uchitel recently. There were reports that the two were spotted together in Florida, but that is simply untrue. Woods has remained on the West Coast during the ENTIRE holiday season. 2. Tiger Woods did not have surgery to repair a gash or cut on his face that was inflicted by his wife. Woods was never cut or injured by his wife, and Elin never attacked him with a golf club. 3. Elin and Tiger are working on their marriage and a divorce is not a 100% lock. A lot of media outlets have reported that Elin is ready to file for divorce, but that is simply not the situation. Yes, she is devastated by her Tiger’s infidelity but she also wants to keep her family together.Most of the major media outlets have been way off when it comes to covering this story. Dale Earnhardt Jr. was in one hell of a giving mood last night — dude bought drinks for more than 800 people who walked into his North Carolina bar. It all went down at the Whisky River bar in Charlotte — which is owned by the NASCAR stud. We’re told Dale decided to pick up the tab for every drink ordered in his place between 8-9pm. Bartender Shawn Southern — who was also on VH1’s “Tool Academy” — says the bill was “a ridiculous amount of money” … but Dale made sure to treat the staff to a “very generous” tip. — TMZ
