St. Louis Cardinals Hire Mark McGwire as Roids Coach…I mean Hitting Coach

la russa mcgwire

Terez, we desperately need Mark's swag back in the locker room..and his roids of course..

Tony La Russa has agreed to come back for at least a 15th season as the Cardinals’ skipper. One of those factors apparently led to Friday’s move to sever ties with hitting coach Hal McRae and to install Mark McGwire as his successor. McGwire’s tutorials have drawn raves from those who have attended, including Cardinals second baseman Skip Schumaker and former Cardinals outfielder Chris Duncan. The Cardinals consider McGwire’s hiring sensitive enough that they ordered team employees not to discuss it. St. Louis Post-Dispatch

La Russa, having a roid head in your clubhouse is a terrible idea..but you’re an alcoholic so it evens things out. -TO

Pats Welker, Brady mistaken for boy band in London

brady welker

Line of the day is from Patriots WR Wes Welker, who said he, Tom Brady and other players were mistaken for a boy band when they were at dinner on Saturday night: “That was pretty funny. (But) we had two offensive linemen with us, so I don’t know where they got that from.” – Providence Journal

If Brady and Welker were in a boy band, I guess Belichick would play the part of Lou Perlman, their scumbag manager. -TO

Former Celtics star Antoine Walker pursued by creditors after blowing $110 million

Terez, I will pay you back as soon as i could borrow money from somebody..

A Globe review found that, during the last seven months, Antoine Walker has been pursued by multiple financial institutions for unpaid debts totaling more than $4 million. Court documents filed in Illinois and Florida reveal Walker was named a defendant in three recent debt-related civil cases, in addition to the ongoing check-kiting case. His former agent is also after him, citing a heap of unpaid fees. Several National Basketball Association sources, among them friends and former teammates of Walker’s, said the 33-year-old player may well have squandered much of his $110 million-plus in career earnings. Without a team or contract as the new NBA season begins Tuesday, they’ve heard that Walker is casting about for cash to pay off his debts and is looking to catch on with a team, perhaps even overseas. – Boston Globe

You better watch your ass T, have you ever heard of the peoples elbow

Don’t ask Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for a photo. On Wednesday, the wrestler-turned-actor was approached by a security guard on a rooftop at 25th and Broadway on the set of his new flick, “The Other Guys,” co-starring Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell and Samuel L. Jackson. “The guard said he wanted to get a picture for his son, who was a huge fan,” says our witness. “But The Rock got all annoyed and said he can’t take pictures with everyone who asks. The best part is that when the guy said ‘Fine, but my son isn’t a fan anymore,’ The Rock gave him his trademark stare!” His rep didn’t return calls. -NY Post

The rock is still pissed that he couldn’t play in the NFL-TO

Jets QB Mark Sanchez Eats Hot Dog During Raiders vs. Jets

Mark Sanchez sat on the Jets bench with several minutes remaining in the game noshing on a hot dog. “I want to apologize for that,” Sanchez said. “I wasn’t feeling very good and didn’t eat much before the game, so I was feeling a little queasy. Toward the end of the game, I probably should have eaten one of those bars or something, but someone offered [a hot dog], so I grabbed it and tried to be discreet about it, but obviously not discreet enough. So I shouldn’t have done that, and it won’t happen again.” — NY Post

Claudia Rivero Air Humped to Fame by Phillies Fan

A Phillies fan (apparently wearing some kind of odd, freaky mask) lets an oblivous NBC Philadephia reporter Claudia Rivero know that he likes her. He really really likes her. (No, that is not Steve Phillips of ESPN as some have suggested)
