LAS VEGAS (AP) — Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida stopped Rashad Evans at 3:57 of the second round to win the light heavyweight title at UFC 98 on Saturday night. Machida landed a barrage of punches that sent Evans reeling up against the cage and finished him off with a left hand that folded Evans backwards onto the canvas.

“I’ve tried all my life to become a champion and I am very, very happy,” a jubilant Machida said. “Now I’m going to keep this belt for a long time.”

The light heavyweight title has now changed hands four times in the last five title bouts.

According to Radaronline.com, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady(notes) and his wife Gisele Bundchen are expecting their first child as a couple. Gisele and Tom had two wedding ceremonies, and now she’s told close friends that she’s expecting their first baby together. The couple wed in Santa Monica, Calif. in February and then had another small ceremony in Costa Rica in April. RadarOnline.com was first to report that ceremony. Now the quarterback and the model are passing on their superstar gene pool to the next generation!Brady already has a son with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.

PITTSBURGH (AP) – The agent of Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison says the player’s young son is “doing well” at a Pittsburgh hospital following an attack by a pit bull. Harrison’s agent, William Parise, says 2-year-old James Harrison III was bitten on the thigh after his mother let the dog out of its pen Thursday afternoon. Parise said Saturday he was with the boy at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and the boy was expected to remain there for another day or two.

Parise says the woman and the player’s massage therapist also were hurt trying to help the boy, and the therapist needed three stitches. A hospital spokesman declined comment Saturday, saying the family has asked that no information be released.
