Before Ottawa Senators player Mike Comrie saw the premiere of Hilary Duff’s new film, Stay Cool, at the Tribeca Film Festival, he knew he’d enjoy it. “It’s always fun watching her work,” he told Us in New York Thursday. The long-distance couple say they make an effort to cheer each other on – Duff is a staple at Comrie’s hockey games – whenever they get the chance. “We have a lot of fun,” the NHL star said. “We both live such different lives, but its always fun to support each other and spend time when we get to.”With Mike Comrie playing in Canada and Hilary Duff shooting across the country, the couple has few moments together in the same city. Yet they’re still going strong. “If it’s worth it, you make it work,” Comrie said. “It’s natural for us, which I think is great,” the Duffster added. “We both have busy jobs, and we’re both very focused people, so that helps. Since we are apart so much, it’s not like one person is at home waiting for the other.” Interestingly, Comrie’s teammate, Mike Fisher, is also dating a cute, blonde celebrity in Carrie Underwood! Those Ottawa Senators have all the luck.

CHICAGO — After playing one game at far less than full speed, Chicago Cubs outfielder Milton Bradley said Thursday he’s not close to returning from a lingering groin injury. “I want to say I am, but I’m not,” Bradley told Cubs.com.
Bradley has not spoken to the media in at least a week. He spoke to Cubs.com because it is affiliated with the Cubs’ organization, the Web site said. Speaking of the fourth estate, the at-times-volatile Bradley accused Chicago’s media of trying to make him “snap,” a remark that comes on the heels of his ejection for arguing a called third strike during his April 16 pinch-hitting appearance, and the subsequent two-game suspension for making contact with umpire Larry Vanover. “I’m just not into negativity,” he said. “I can see already I’m going to be that guy that since nothing else is going on in here, ‘We’re going to harp on Bradley all year and see if we can get him to snap.’ I’m not going to go for it. You can’t get a good story if I don’t talk to [the media]. You’ll make something up, like you always do.” “If I talk to you, you’re going to make something up, and if I don’t talk to you, you’re going to make something up. BAYONNE, N.J. — On the pitcher’s mound, a 12-year-old girl from New Jersey is perfect. Mackenzie Brown is the first girl in Bayonne Little League history to throw a perfect game. She retired all 18 boys she faced on Tuesday. There are no official records of how many perfect games are thrown per season. Little League Baseball in Williamsport, Pa., estimates only 50 to 60 occur each year. No one knows how many have been thrown by girls. Brown says she knew she had something special going in the fourth inning and just tried not to mess up.
