When I open my eyes I wanna see a table full of cash....

After nearly a full day of reflection and struggle, John Calipari decided today to accept the head coaching job at Kentucky and leave the University of Memphis after nine seasons, according to a source close to Calipari.

A news conference to introduce Calipari as the new Kentucky coach will take place Wednesday in Lexington, Ky.

The Louisville Courier-Journal and Lexington Herald-Leader reported that Calipari called former Kentucky coach Joe B. Hall to discuss the program and its tradition.

Calipari leaves Memphis after nine seasons, the last four of which elevated the Tigers’ program to heights never before seen in school history, including an appearance in the 2008 NCAA championship game.

Just like I said, he will follow the greens. He is getting paid, but also leaving a bitter taste in Memphis fans  as he exits.  I think he will be able to sleep at night, on a bed of cash, just like Terez. -TO

Gayrod Doesn’t Wash

Alex Rodriguez soaked up the love in Aspen this weekend, but he didn’t exactly give it back. The Yankees slugger was partying at the Caribou Club, enjoying the attention of “several cougars,” a source said, when he went to the bathroom. A male source added, “When he was done, he walked out of his stall, went up to the sink, primped himself in the mirror and walked out — without washing his hands. Nasty.” A-Rod then went back to the adoration of the ladies, but left by himself. – NY Post

I am not surprised. Gayrod is a scum. I would think he would try to spend as much time as possible in the Men’s Room. He likes Men. -TO

Coaching is a Risky Business

March 31, 2009

Activision Publishing, Inc. makes a slam dunk with the latest installment of the “Risky Business”- inspired advertising campaign featuring four of the best-known national collegiate basketball coaches of all time and their surprise encounter with world-famous rock band Metallica. The ad will highlight the coaches jamming on instruments from Guitar Hero Metallica to the song “Old Time Rock and Roll,” performed by Bob Seger. The commercial, airing now and throughout the men’s college basketball playoffs and championship game, features the all-time leader in college basketball coaching wins Bob Knight gripping the mic, arch rivals Duke University Coach Mike Krzyzewski (“Coach K”) and University of North Carolina Coach Roy Williams sharing duties on the guitar, and former NBA coach and current University of Louisville Coach Rick Pitino dominating the drums. During their performance, the men are confronted by legendary rock band, Metallica, who are unimpressed by the coaches’ rock and roll fantasy. – Activision Publishing, Inc.

I recognized the coaches but Metallica got old as shit. Funny spoof on risky business. -TO

Gisele Bundchen takes kung fu fighting at the Boston Kung Fu Tai Chi Institute and her instructor, Yao Li, said she wants to train every day. “We actually trained Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day,” he said. “There’s no day off.” Tom Brady, a fan of Bruce Lee, calls her Gise-Lee. – Boston Herald

Guaranteed Gisele could whoop Tom’s ass. I know this is hardly news, but peeps love to hear whats up with these two.  So here it is, Tom is more in love with Bruce Lee than Gisele Lee. -TO

Terez, Do you like my shirt. I love wearing it, its so cumfy...

Jose Canseco is scheduled to speak Friday at 7:30 p.m. at USC’s Bovard Auditorium, where questions about former Trojans All-American Mark McGwire as well as Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Alex Rodriguez, et al., doubtless will be raised. – LA Times

In this messed up world we live in, Canseco is considered credible. It feels like we are in a parallel universe where Canseco is the voice of reason. Now that is messed. Canseco is a flamestick juicer. Who gives a shit what he has to say? -TO

Phelps meets Ali, Warner Squeezes In

March 31, 2009
Which one doesn't belong?

Which one doesn't belong?

Muhammad Ali may have the nickname, but to the legendary boxer, Michael Phelps is “the Greatest.” The two met backstage Saturday at Ali’s Celebrity Fight Night in Phoenix, where they posed for pictures together and got along swimmingly. Olympic medalist Phelps was so thankful to be honored at Ali’s event, he was overheard repeatedly gushing, “This is amazing to be with him.” The feeling is mutual. Ali’s wife told Phelps that the former fighter (also a gold medalist) was glued to the TV during the Beijing Olympics — just to watch him win. Just call it the latest bromance!  – NY Daily News

I wonder if Ali hits the bong like Phelps. I am sure these two stroked each other’s egos all night long.  Champions are drawn to each other and these two are definitely champions. WTF is Warner doing there. -TO

Gayrod Rehabs His Way

TAMPA, Fla. –(AP) Alex Rodriguez is making progress in rehab after hip surgery and could soon move his workouts from Colorado to the New York Yankees’ spring training complex.

A firm date for the switch to Tampa, Fla., is not set, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Tuesday. But he said the latest it would be is April 13.

“We’re still talking about it,” Cashman said.

The Yankees open a three-game road series at Tampa Bay on April 13.

“Everything is going well,” Cashman said. “He’s working extremely hard. Everything is going as planned.”

Rodriguez had surgery in Vail, Colo., on March 9 and the Yankees don’t expect the third baseman to rejoin the team until about May 15. Cashman added that the three-time AL MVP has indicated he hopes to be back sooner.

Rodriguez has started lightly swinging a bat, and manager Joe Girardi received a message from the star slugger saying he was set to resume throwing this week.

“He was going to up his work level a little bit more,” Girardi said. “His rehab is taking another step. Seemed like he was in a good frame of mind. We miss him and he misses us.”

Rodriguez is also lifting weights, riding a stationary bike, working out in a pool and doing range of motion drills.

Why is Gayrod rehabbing in Colorado. Shouldn’t he be with his team that pays him nearly 30million a year. Gayrod is a chump and a liar, and those are his good qualities. -TO
